Two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, a.k.a., AJ, has returned to the gym after he escaped a near-death accident in Nigeria last year.

The former world heavyweight champion received injuries and was shifted to hospital in the fatal car crash that killed two of his close friends, which occurred on December 29, 2025.

The Watford-born boxer was spending holidays with friends, and they were travelling on a major road in Lagos when their SUV collided with a stationary truck.

Joshua had just 10 days before crushed Jake Paul in a fight in Miami.

Although, there were widespread speculations about whether he would ever be able to make a return to the ring again after that fatal car crash.

Now, Joshua shared a major health update with their fans, he posted a video on Snapchat showing him hitting pads in the gym, performing a lower-leg workout on an exercise bike, and swimming in a pool.

The clips were assembled into a quick montage, with one captioned, “mental strength therapy.”

It also included some other posts featuring the timer on the treadmill, captioned, “I’am a fighter,” along with a snap of Joshua being hit by Wladimir Klitschko during their famous 2017 heavyweight title fight.
