Rapper Pooh Shiesty has been charged with armed takeover and kidnapping of Gucci Mane among eight other conspirators including his father, Lonnie Williams, Sr.
The announcement was made by the Texas attorney Ryan Raybould on Thursday, April 2, 2026, and said 8 of the 9 suspects were arrested in Dallas, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee.
The incident occurred on January 10, 2026 and the arrests were made on April 1, 2026.
As per the statement by the Texas attorney's office, which said, “As alleged, nine defendants traveled to Dallas, Texas, to kidnap and rob victims who thought they were coming into town for a business meeting.”
Among these nine defendants are three music figures, including rapper Gucci Mane, whose legal name is Radric Davis, Rodney Wright, Jr. (aka Big30) and Pooh Shiesty.
Davis is only identified in the Criminal Complaint as “R.D.,” where Davis’s record label has also been mentioned, which is “1017.”
It added, “Instead of discussing business in a civil matter, the defendants resorted to violence and intimidation to achieve their purported business objectives.”
The prosecutors claim the group was carrying a pistol and forced “R.D.” to sign a contract at gunpoint.
The other co-defendants robbed the other two victims of their belongings which include Rolex watches, jewelry and other valuables.
Police raided Williams Jr.’s (Pooh Shiesty) home in Memphis.
The arrests were made on April 1, including rapper Shiesty's father, Lonnie Williams, Sr.
As per the details, Shiesty’s father helped with the planning and execution of the kidnapping, rented a car and was caught in the CCTV footage near the location of the alleged crimes.
Besides, the surveillance footage shows Pooh Shiesty seen at the location of the incident, which in fact is a violation of his home detention conditions.
Further evidence connecting Shiesty to the robbery was his cell phone records and license plate reader data which established he traveled from Tennessee to Dallas.
For context, rapper Pooh Shiesty was freed from federal prison in October last year after serving three years of his five-year imprisonment.
