Kim Zolciak pushes back on custody rumors

Kim Zolciak pushed back against reports that she has lost custody of her children amid her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Kroy Biermann.

On April 3, the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum took to Instagram Stories to explain the role counseling sessions are playing in her temporary custody arrangement.

“I have not lost custody of my children, nor has there been any modification to the custody arrangement,” she wrote.

She noted that both parents were ordered to attend counseling sessions as part of a temporary order signed in January.

Zolciak said her absence from sessions was due to filming obligations overseas from late February through March.

This left her without a single day off to attend therapy.

She clarified that Biermann currently has the children for spring break under the existing parenting schedule.

Moreover, she is set to resume her parenting time once they return.

“My counseling sessions are scheduled and will be completed next week,” she added.

As per Us Weekly, court documents had revealed that Zolciak would not be allowed to see her four youngest children, KJ (14) Kash (13) and 12-year-old twins Kaia and Kane, until she completed four therapy sessions, but no earlier than April 13.

The ruling came after Biermann requested primary custody, accusing Zolciak of “blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities.”

Zolciak strongly denied those claims in conversation with the outlet.

She called them “completely false” and “a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character.”

She emphasized that her five-week filming schedule was to support her family and insisted she would not be silenced.

“The truth is on my side, and it will come to light — no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it,” she said.

The former couple, who split in 2023 after 11 years of marriage, previously documented their romantic relationship on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and spinoff Don’t Be Tardy.

Their divorce has been contentious, with custody of their children at the center of the dispute.
