JB Gill reflects on X Factor fame as son takes his first steps into showbiz

JB Gill shared what his years in the spotlight taught him as he now watches his own son start working in showbiz.

The JLS singer first became famous when the group appeared on The X Factor in 2008. JB was only 21 when JLS finished as runners up.

Almost 20 years later, he is still performing with the group. He, however, has also worked on TV shows and has even shared parts of his life on his farm.

Looking back at The X Factor, JB said having his bandmates beside him made a big difference.

“One of the biggest differences for us is that we were going through it as a group. So even in our down moments, like being in the bottom two or whatever, being able to share it with somebody means someone can pick you up.”

JB is now a father to Ace, 12, and Chiara, eight. His children have also started working in the entertainment world.

Ace has already acted in some TV shows, but JB and his wife Chloe Tangney are making sure he does not take on too much too soon.

“We don't want to expose him to anything too soon,” JB said. “We want it to be the right opportunity for him.”

The music icon shared that he wants his kids to enjoy the industry while also having the right support around them.

He is now getting ready to perform with JLS at Wembley Arena on October 10.
