Christopher French is making one thing very clear: Ashley Tisdale can handle her own drama.

The Annie Automatic musician has stayed firmly on the sidelines following the backlash surrounding his wife’s viral essay about leaving her “toxic mom group.”

“We're doing fine,” French told Page Six in a recent interview.

“She's a super smart, capable person, and she knows what she's doing and that's part of what I love about her.”

French, who shares daughters Jupiter, 5, and Emerson, 2, with the High School Musical alum, said he never felt the need to jump into the controversy or speak on Tisdale’s behalf.

“I have no problem supporting my wife completely in her ability to deal with her own interpersonal relationships in whatever way [she] feels is right for her,” he explained, “without getting involved or feeling like I have to speak for her.”

That approach may explain why French has largely kept quiet b while the internet dissected Tisdale’s January essay for The Cut.

In it, Tisdale described feeling “frozen out of the group” after seeing fellow moms spending time together without her.

Although she didn’t name anyone, fans quickly speculated about her famous friends, including Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore and Meghan Trainor.

Tisdale’s rep later denied the essay was about any of the three.

Still, the fallout continued. Moore said she was hurt by the implications, while Duff admitted the situation made her “really sad.”

Through it all, French seems happy to let his wife tell her own story—and he’s sticking to that.
