CHITTAGONG: Brendon McCullum became the first batsman to complete 2000 runs in inTwenty20 International cricket.
He needed 21 runs to reach the milestone when he came to bat against The Netherlands here at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Saturday.
The 32-year-old batsman made 65 in his 45-ball innings, hitting four fours and three sixes.
McCullum, who is leading the New Zealand team in the fifth World Twenty20 being played in Bangldesh, has so far made 2044 runs in 67 T20 internationals with two hundreds and 13 fifties. Thus, he holds the records of scoring the most hundreds and fifties besides making the most runs in this format of cricket.
