LONDON: The central figure of the memogate scandal, Mansoor Ijaz claimed he has documentary evidence regarding President Zardari's Swiss banks transactions, Geo News reported.
While talking to media upon his arrival at the Pakistani High Commission in London for cross-examination, Mansoor said presidential immunity would be removed if the case against President Zaradri were proven.
On Thursday, the memo commission gave three more days to both parties for the cross-examination. Ijaz said he would not be available after Sunday and for him the matter will end that day.
While cross-examining Mansoor Ijaz, Husain Haqqani's legal counsel, Zahid Bukhari, did not ask a single question about the alleged memo, but limited his arguments to Ijaz's past, his links with intelligence agencies and cases registered against him in the US.
The sudden appearance of the former Pakistani ambassador, who reached London quietly, was a surprise for everyone. However, it was Ijaz who set the tone of the day when he claimed that the contents of the BlackBerry records were so incriminating that Haqqani was scared of handing over his PIN codes and other material to the judicial commission.
The three-member inquisitorial commission directed Haqqani for the second time to categorically accept or deny the exhibit documents produced by Mansoor Ijaz.
The commission said Haqqani had submitted a general answer before the commission but 'our requirement is an answer to each and every document that has been produced by the witness.'
