ISLAMABAD: Despite the severe opposition from the main opposition party the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the National Assembly on Monday approved a bill validating actions taken by former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani between April 24 to June 19,2012.
The bill was tabled by Law Minister Farooq Hameed Naik, who said that Mr Gilani had approved reinstatement of deposed judges during the same period.
He said that it was necessary to validate the actions taken by the former premier as he had worked as the prime minister till June 19.
PML-N members Zahid Hamid, Saira Afzal Tarar, Khurram Dastgir and Mehmood Bashir Wirk opposed the bill and said Gilani should not have taken measures are issued orders since he was disqualified by the Supreme Court.
Moreover, the MQM moved a resolution against Israeli aggression against Palestinians while Nawaz-league also announced to bring the same resolution.
