Lahore: Damaged over-head bridge removed from road

LAHORE: The rubble of the over-head pedestrian bridge that had collapsed early Saturday morning has been removed from the road, Geo News reported.

Earlier this morning, an over-head pedestrian bridge collapsed when a truck hit it near the Punjab University in Lahore.

Rescue sources said that the bridge came down as a trailer hauling heavy machinery that exceeded 16-feet height hit it.

They said that truck driver sustained injuries in the incident who has now been arrested by the police. Traffic was suspended in the area due to the collapse of the pedestrian bridge which has now resumed after the rbble was cleared from the road.
