QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution against the governor rule imposed in the province by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Geo News reported.
The provincial assembly also passed two resolutions against Bacha Khan Chowk and Alamdar Road blasts in Quetta. Both the resolutions seek a High Court Judge led commission investigate the blasts, which killed more than one hundred people last week.
Earlier the assembly session started under the chair of Speaker Syed Mutiullah.
Only 16 members of provincial assembly attended the session.
MPA Mir Shah Nawaz Marri moved the resolution demanding immediate revocation of governor rule.
Some MPAs noted the imposition of governor rule was like a repeat of what happened in 1973.
“We gave the prime minister a formula for an in-house change of Balochistan government the democratic way, but the bureaucracy misled them into imposing a governor rule”, they remarked.
Terming it against the traditions of Balochistan, the lawmakers during the session also condemned a raid conducted by police at provincial minister, Madad Ali Jatak’s house.
