KARACHI: The International Republican Institution (IRI) has revealed in a latest survey that neither the ruling Pakistan People’s Party nor the Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf are the most popular political parties in the country, Geo News reported Monday.

The survey carried out in November last year revealed that the popularity of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz increased from 28 percent to 32 percent, while the popularity of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has decline from 24 percent to 18 percent and it attained second position, whereas Pakistan Peoples Party attained third position with 14 percent vote bank. Balochistan is the only province where the PPP’s popularity showed upward trend.

The IRI took random samples of 4000 people from cross section of society to carry out the survey which also revealed that majority of Pakistanis was not in favour of creation of new provinces in Punjab.
