ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has asked the government to announce the polling day of May 11 as a public holiday across the country, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to the sources of ECP, the commission’s demand to have a public holiday on May 11 has been taken to ensure maximum participation of people in the ballot exercise.
The ECP has, in this connection, sent letters to the Interior Ministry and provincial governments.
