Two cops gunned down in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Two policemen have been killed during an armed clash with militants in Rashid Garhi area of the city, Geo News reported.

According to police, acting on a tip off they carried out an operation, arresting a would-be-suicide bomber and recovering a jacket and explosives from his custody.

The police said that they conducted a search operation after the accused told them that one of his accomplices had fled.

Two policemen of Elite Force were killed when militants holed up at a house, opened fire on them. An explosion was heard at the house. The police said that the militants were carrying heavy weapons.
