Lawyers stage strong protest against target killings

KARACHI: Hundreds of lawyers staging a strong protest against Tuesday's target killing of Advocate Kausar Saqlain kept storming the gate of the Sindh assembly, where they wanted to get their protests registered on Wednesday here, Geo News reported.

Angry lawyers raising vociferous slogans against the authorities for the total failure in restoring the law and order and controlling persistent target killings in the city marched from the city court to the Sindh assembly under the aegis of Karachi Bar Association.

Saddar S.P. leading a strong contingent of police deployed over there for security requested the lawyers, who were trying to jump over the gate, not to undermine the sanctity of the assembly and advised them to constitute a representative delegation, who could be taken inside the assembly.

It may be recalled that the Advocate Kausar Saqlain and his two sons were killed in targeted firings yesterday at Mauripur Road here.
