RAWALPINDI: The investigation team probing Raja Bazaar incident has identified 35 accused with the help of recorded videos out of which 20 have been arrested so far, Geo News reported Friday.
Sources told that 35 culprits were identified through recorded CCTV footage while 20 have been arrested so far. Police is conducting raids in different areas of Rawalpindi and other cities to nab the remaining 15 perpetrators.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, on Thursday, addressed a news conference here at the Punjab House and told that the accused were identified through close circuit TV camera footage forensic and other evidences and there was no doubt about their identity and involvement in violence which took lives of 11 innocent persons and injured 56 others.
He said the team is continuing its investigation in an independent, transparent and impartial manner adding that no one would be arrested without having any evidence against him.
Rana Sanaullah said that the perpetrators who were directly involved in spreading violence will be brought to justice at any cost.
It is pertinent to mention that violent clashes between two groups erupted on Friday that left 11 people dead and over 40 injured as the worshippers massed to mourn the seventh century martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA), followed by the imposition of curfew in the area.
The clashes erupted when a mourners’ procession was on its way through Fawara Chowk in the garrison city.
