8,942 accused arrested during Karachi operation: Report

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of police, Shahid Hayat has submitted a report in the Supreme Court hearing Karachi law and order implementation case on Wednesday here, Geo News reported.

Additional IG report giving details of the performance during Karachi operation from September 5 to date stated that in all 8, 942 accused have been arrested, 2,293 different types of weapons were recovered and 220 kilograms of explosives found, sources privy to police said.

The report further said that 1,386 cases have been registered under sections pertaining to keeping illegal weapons.
