Untimely sit-ins undermined uplift projects: Shahbaz

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif on Thursday said the uplift projects aimed at bringing progress and prosperity were undermined by the untimely sit-ins.

“The sit-ins caused losses to the economy and the 180 million people would not forgive this crime,” he said while talking to Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar who called on him here.

The Chief Minister said the people belonging to this country turned hostile towards it. “It is still not too late for the silly friends to act sensibly,” he warned.

He said as per the promise the Punjab government was making the cash disbursements to the flood-affectees within days of the announcement.

Shahbaz Sharif said those staging the sit-downs had set an extreme example of apathy by ignoring the plight of their calamity-stricken brothers and sisters.
