SYDNEY: Indian cricket fans exploded on Twitter on Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, after team India vice captain Virat Kohli failed his team in the crucial India vs Australia World Cup semi-final match in Sydney on Thursday.
India's star batsman lasted just 13 balls before he attempted to pull Australian paceman Mitchell Johnson only to loft a catch for wicketkeeper Brad Haddin in the 16th over.
Sharma looked on glumly in the stands as India lost wickets in a jiffy.
Earlier, Kohli also dropped a catch in the 50th over after which Australia blasted 16 runs.
Fans took to Twitter to vent their rage, taking potshots at Anushka Sharma as if she was to be blamed for the loss.
Some of the tweets:
Not really blaming Anushka, but it's always a bad idea to increase pressure on someone you love by being in the stands in a crucial match

I feel sorry for Anushka. To go Down Under to see VIRAT go down under must be heart-wrenching. She could have easily seen him at home.
