Govt not contemplating banning any channel: Mamnoon

KARACHI: President Pakistan, Mamnoon Hussain Monday clarified that the government was not contemplating putting a ban on any channel.

“We are opposed to banning any channel,” said the President during his meeting with senior politician Mairaj Muhammad Khalid at the latter’s residence.

On the occasion, he prayed for the health of wounded Geo News anchor Hamid Mir and termed the emergence of differences among media houses as regrettable.

Both the dignitaries had an exchange of views on a variety of issues.
