Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor, who is currently undergoing medical treatment for an undisclosed disease in New York, said the procedure is long and tedious but he is hopeful that he will recover soon.

Soon after Kapoor left for the US, several unconfirmed reports popped up stating that the actor is suffering from advanced stage cancer. However, his brother Randhir Kapoor dismissed the reports. "This is all rumour. He is at the moment fine. As he is in great pain, he will be undergoing test tomorrow. He did discuss it with us regarding his health," he had said.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Rishi said that he hoped his treatment, which is currently ongoing, would end soon and he would return. “My treatment is on, hopefully, I will recover soon and God willing I will return.”

He went on to add how his journey so far has been long and tedious and that it has required him to be patient. “The procedure is long and tedious and one needs immense patience which unfortunately is not one of my virtue.”

Kapoor who was last seen in Netflix's film Rajma Chawal said that he is not thinking about films at this point. "Thankfully, I am not thinking about films anymore, just want to be blank and refresh myself with a more relaxed mind. This break shall be therapeutic for me."

Earlier, his wife Neetu had posted a cryptic message about his health suggesting that the veteran actor has indeed been diagnosed with cancer.

"Happy 2019 no resolutions only wishes this year !!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign !!! No hatred less poverty loads of love togetherness happiness n most imp. Good health [sic]," Neetu wrote on Instagram while sharing a selfie with her husband, son Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and other family members.
