Florence Pugh drops exciting update on ‘Thunderbolts'

Florence Pugh dropped a major production update on her upcoming Marvel movie Thunderbolts.

The Oppenheimer actress revealed the production has officially begun on the Marvel film in an Instagram post.

She teased, “I was whisked off to Atlanta to go and shoot a movie that I’m not really allowed to talk about."

“I can show you this”, she whispered before revealing her familiar green costume.

The 28-year-old actress then proceeds to show her fans around the set before walking inside the studio where she’s met with director Jake Schreier in his official chair.

Revealing the name ‘Thunderbolts’ written behind the chairs, she quipped, “We’re having an amazing time and I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve made!”, after giving a brief glance at a scene being filmed, featuring herself pointing a gun at someone.

It is notable to mention that the production was halted ‘indefinitely’ due to the Writers Guild of America strike in May 2023.

However, after the WGA and SAF-AFTRA strikes were resolved, Sebastian Stan, who will portray Bucky Barnes in the film, confirmed in January 2024 that the movie will start filming ‘in a month or so’, according to Variety.

For those unversed, Thunderbolts is an upcoming Marvel movie. While the plot of the movie is under wraps, its comic is based on a team of supervillains who waver between good and bad.

The movie directed by Shrier will have Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarök) to pen the screenplay.

With a star-studded lineup of Pugh, Stan, David, Harbour, Harrison Ford, Olga Kurylenko and many more, the film is slated for release on May 2, 2025.
