Anne Hathaway reveals if 'Idea of You' is inspired by Harry Styles

Anne Hathaway recently addressed the speculations of her film Idea of You being inspired by Harry Styles.

In her recent rom-com, the 41-year-old actress played the character of Solène who sparks up a romance with boy band member Hayes Campbell, played by Nicholas Galitzine.

The male lead character reminded fans of long speculated that Hayes is based on none other than One Direction members.

Based on the 2017 book, Anne stars as a 40-year-old divorced mom who takes her teen daughter (Ella Rubin) to Coachella and ends up meeting Hayes there who’s a 24-year-old lead singer of a famous band.

However, for this week’s issue of Stellar, the Princess Diaries star shared that Robinne Lee, the author of the novel on which the film is based on, has denied any likeness to Harry.

"You guys keep saying it. The author keeps saying it's not! During the audition process, which I can speak to as I'm a producer on the film, we saw people from all backgrounds,” Anne shared.

She added, “The idea was we weren't looking for someone British. We were looking for Hayes Campbell. And if he happened to be British, that would be what Hayes Campbell would be in the film. And Nick was Hayes, so Hayes became British.”
