Tom Cruise surprises Dakota Fanning with surprising gifts

Dakota Fanning shared that Tom Cruise never forgets her birthday.

During a Harper's BAZAAR interview with her Ripley costar Andrew Scott, the 30-year-old actress revealed that she received her first ever mobile phone as a gift from Tom Cruise.

While answering the question about each other Scott guessed the answer to, “Who gave Dakota her first cell phone?” and Scott thought the right answer.

“Okay, well it’s going to be some Hollywood icon … Tom Cruise?” Scott guessed.

Fanning confirmed that the Top Gun: Maverick star gifted her a Motorola Razr for her 11th birthday during the filming of War of the Worlds in 2005.

“Oh, my God, I was so excited,” the Twilight actress recalled.

However, it was not the most useful gift for her as fanning said that she, “didn’t have anybody to call or text at that time,” as she was just 11 years old at the time.

She added, “But I loved having it. I loved it. I felt so cool.”

Mission Impossible actor did not stop with a mobile phone as Fanning said she still receives gifts from him.

“Tom sends me a birthday gift every year, and has since that birthday,” The Equalizer 3 actress noted, mentioning the latest gift she received on her 30th birthday earlier in the month of April.

Scott jokingly said, “So thoughtful. Really, really nice. He’s never given me anything.”

Fanning not only receives gifts from Tom Cruise but other Hollywood stars are also on the list. During Elle magazine’s Ask Me Anything video series earlier in April, fanning revealed her Dreamer co-star Kurt Russell gifted her a horse once.
