Liev Schreiber talks about terrifying onstage during 'Doubt' performance

Liev Schreiber, known for his role in Broadway's Doubt: A Parable, recently shared an experience of temporary amnesia during a performance.

According to PEOPLE report, Schreiber, who portrays Father Flynn in the play, disclosed the ordeal during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Schreiber recounted feeling unwell with a severe headache before the show, stating, "I was in my dressing room and I had a terrible headache. I thought it was maybe a fast food headache, but it felt a little stronger than that. I’m walking down the stairs and I’m thinking, ‘This is not normal. I don’t feel okay.’"

As he descended the stairs to the stage, his condition worsened, and he struggled to recall even basic details, like the name of his co-star, Amy Ryan.

"My doctor, who’s a friend, shows up and he had a terrified expression. My wife shows up, she looks terrified. I think, ‘Okay, I’ve had a stroke. This is it,’" he added.

However, an MRI revealed no brain abnormalities but, the diagnosis of transient global amnesia (TGA), a rare condition linked to migraines and intense physical activity shocked the actor.

He revealed that the doctor assured him that the episode would resolve itself without lasting effects.

"I never had another problem with it. I was embarrassed and thought everyone would think I was lying and taking a night off from the theater," Schreiber added.
