Barbra Streisand drops new song 'Love Will Survive' in six years

Barbra Streisand is set to release a new song, Love Will Survive, which marks her first in six years.

According to PEOPLE report, the song, set to release on April 25, is part of the soundtrack for the upcoming television series The Tattooist of Auschwitz, which marks her first musical contribution to a TV series.

Love Will Survive was composed by the acclaimed Hans Zimmer, alongside Kara Talve, Walter Afanasieff, and Charlie Midnight.

The song is inspired by the series, which is based on Heather Morris’ 2018 novel of the same name.

The series narrates the real-life story of Lali, a Slovakian Jew deported to Auschwitz, who falls in love with Gita, a fellow prisoner, amidst the horrors of the concentration camp.

Streisand revealed in the statement, "because of the rise in antisemitism around the world today, I wanted to sing 'Love Will Survive' in the context of this series, as a way of remembering the six-million souls who were lost less than 80 years ago, and also to say that even in the darkest of times, the power of love can triumph and endure."
