Ryan Reynolds hailed Michael J. Fox in a recent interview and shared what he wants his daughter to learn from the legendary actor.

For the annual TIME 100’s Most Influential People, the Deadpool actor penned a short tribute to his longtime friend and heaped praise for his remarkable impact on many lives, including his own.

“I met Mike 17 years ago. I’ve watched him raise the bar for purpose and passion”, he wrote.

“He’s someone who helped my dad, along with millions of others, feel less alone”, the actor penned before regarding him as the “greatest champion of Parkinson’s research on the planet”.

The father of three also shared a sweet memory with his daughter James as he recalled watching the 1985 Sci-fi comedy Back to the Future featuring Fox as Marty McFly.

“It’s become her favourite film”, he shared.

“I don’t need to teach my daughter the level of compassion Mike has mastered. Or teach her to tell stories the way Mike tells stories. I need to teach her that it’s OK to fall a lot. It’s the absolute best way to know you’re flying”.

Dubbing him as ‘funny’,’ handsome’, ‘warm’ and ‘intensely smart’ Ryan continued, “He also falls a lot. Not just because he has Parkinson’s. He falls a lot because he’s unafraid to fly”.
