Netflix has officially kickstarted production on Season 4 of the fantasy series, The Witcher, with a table read and have updated the audience about the fifth and the final season of the show.

Taking to its official Twitter account, the show makers marked the beginning of season 4 production with a snippet of the cast table read, along with another major announcement regarding the show’s ‘epic’ conclusion. 

“It's official, The Witcher season 4 is in production”, the post read.

It also revealed that the team would film back to back for season 5 as it continued, “But that's not all, we're already planning season 5, which will be the final season and bring this epic show to a fitting conclusion”.

“See you on The Continent”, the post concluded.  

According to the streaming giant season 4 and 5 will complete the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s book which means that the remaining series will cover three novels Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake. 

As for the cast, while the audience will get to see Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan and Joey Batey in their respective roles, Henry Cavill will be replaced by the Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth as the Geralt of Rivia, as announced by the streaming platform in October 2022.  

“I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into ‘The Witcher’ world”, Hemsworth wrote in an Instagram post at the time.
