Anne Hathaway revealed shocking details about chemistry tests early on in her career. 

In a recent interview with V Magazine, the Devil Wears Prada actress talked about the one thing she is happy about not having to do anymore, which are "chemistry tests." 

“Back in the 2000s, and this did happen to me, it was considered normal to ask an actor to make out with other actors to test for chemistry”, the 41-year-old actress revealed. 

“Which is actually the worst way to do it”, she added. 

Calling out the ‘gross’ practice, she then detailed the audition where she had to make out for movie roles.  

“I was told, 'We have 10 guys coming today and you're cast. Aren't you excited to make out with all of them?' I thought, 'Is there something wrong with me?' because I wasn't excited," she added.

However, the mother-of-two knew better than to speak up as she was afraid of being labelled as ‘difficult’ and ‘lose everything.' So, even though she did not enjoy it, the New York native pretended otherwise. 

“No one was trying to be awful or hurt me. It was just a very different time and now we know better”, Anne noted.
