Anne Hathaway reportedly had to struggle with bizarre ‘chemistry testing’ practices during her early years.

For the unfamiliar, The Idea of You star started her career in the showbiz industry with her role in Disney’s movie The Princess Diaries. Spilling the beans on her the gross routine, the actress shared that she had to go through during screen chemistry tests during this gig in a recent sit down with V Magazine.

She recalled, "I was told, 'We have ten guys coming today and you're cast. Aren't you excited to make out with all of them?'”

Expressing how it was "actually the worst way to do" the on-screen chemistry testing, she shared, “And I thought, 'Is there something wrong with me?' because I wasn't excited. I thought it sounded gross."

Nonetheless, she admitted that in order to save her career Anne admitted she "got on with it."

"I was so young and terribly aware how easy it was to lose everything by being labelled 'difficult,'” the acting sensation reasoned.

She also explained, “So I just pretended I was excited and got on with it,” she said before noting, “It wasn't a power play, no one was trying to be awful or hurt me.”

Wrapping up this “gross” memory, she remarked, “It was just a very different time and now we know better."
