Anne Hathaway teases fans with 'The Princess Diaries 3' update

Anne Hathaway updated fans of recent developments in The Princess Diaries franchise.  

Although the 41-year-old cannot give out many details about the upcoming exciting prospect, the actress did assure fans about the anticipated threequel.  

During a recent interview with V Magazine, the New York native offered insight and commented, “We’re in a good place”. 

“That’s all I can say. There’s nothing to announce yet. But we’re in a good place", she added.

For the unversed, Variety broke the internet when it reported about the third instalment of the royal comedy franchise back in November 2022.  

Confirming that the movie will be in direct continuation of The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, the media outlet also disclosed that the third installment will be written by Aadrita Mukerji and produced by Debra Martin Chase.  

Although an official cast announcement are yet to be made, the original members including, Hathaway, Sandra Oh and Chris Pine, have shown interest in reprising their respective roles.  

Meanwhile, Julie Andrews, who portrayed the Queen regent of Genovia and Mia Thermopolis's grandmother, Queen Clarisse Renaldi, has expressed doubt over her return. 

She noted, “I think we know that it’s probably not going to be possible”, before adding, “I am that much older and Annie the princess, our queen, is so much older. And I am not sure whether it would float or run”.
