‘Scooby-Doo’ live-action adaptation from Warner Bros. lands at Netflix

Scooby Doo is reportedly set to hit the screen again with a fresh take.

According to Variety, Netflix is set to stream a new rendition of Scooby Doo” The Live-Action Series, from Greg Berlanti’s production banner and Warner Bros Television (WBTV).

Berlanti Production and WBTV are currently under a deal with the streaming giant, with the recently launched Dead Boys Detectives, a live-action adaptation of a supernatural comic by Neil Gaiman and Matt Wagner.

The upcoming series will be penned by Cowboy Bebop writers Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg, who will also serve as executive producers along with André Nemec and Jepp Pinkner of Midnight Radio.

The project is said to be a one-hour-long drama series which has currently landed on the platform with a script-to-series commitment. The exact plot of the series is being kept under wraps.

Should the project receive positive feedback, it would not be the first live-action adaptation of the widely popular franchise.

The franchise, that introduced supernatural mystery solving teens including Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and the titular talking dog Scooby-Doo, was originally launched in 1969.

The drama has then been picked by various platforms for adaptations and spin-offs including the latest Velma from Mindy Kaling.
