Five years passed to Megxit, which saw Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quitting royal life and the UK.
Despite such a passage of time, Arthur Edwards, a royal photographer for The Sun, wrote in the outlet that the rebel royal's exit "sent shockwaves through The Firm and caused no end of trouble for the royals who remained."
He argued that contrary to what commentators predicted at the time, the crumbling of The Firm in the wake of the couple's interview with Oprah Winfrey and the Duke of Sussexx's book Spare and that republicans "rubbed their hands with glee and sat back with popcorn" as they voiced opposition against the monarchy.
The royal family nonetheless braved all of these hurdles; as the expert said, "I believe the Royal Family is stronger now than when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit."
Regarding the alleged rift between King Charles and Prince Harry, Arthur believed the British public would "embrace him because they remember what a great person he was."
"The King would also love to have his son back in his life, but William remains a sticking point, and the two "don't even want to look at each other," he concluded.
