Sabrina Carpenter, an American popstar, is receiving backlash by the music production and song-writing team which consists of Matt Aitken, Mike Stock and Pete Waterman.
Waterman has claimed that the singer dresses like a “little girl” which he thinks is “offensive”.
He explained to The Sun, “They've [women] won all of their freedoms and their rights, women. They fought for everything they've got and now they're throwing it away, is the way I would look at it.”
“It's just crazy. If you're asking to be respected, don't come on in a G-string,” Waterman continued.
Referring to her lyrics, Stock claimed, “I would never try to write a lyric that said anything specific on a sexual level. You'd always be allegorical or allude to it somehow. So I don't like that. I think it's a bad show and it's lazy. You're going to grab some form of attention by doing that.”
Carpenter achieved major success in 2024 through tracks like Espresso as well as Please Please Please.
However, she has been in the media industry for a much longer time, playing the role of Maya Hart in the Disney show Girls Meets World from 2014 to 2019. She has also appeared in movies like Tall Girl, The Hate U Give and The Short History of the Long Road.
