Meghan Markle blasted over 'appalling' use of royal link

Meghan Markle has been accused of “flouting” her HRH title for her own benefit, according to sources.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, came under fire after sharing a photo of a gift basket she gave to a friend. In the basket, a note could be seen, which read, "With Compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex".

The Sussexes famously agreed to not use the HRH honorific for business purposes after stepping down from from their royal duties in 2020.

Now, royal sources have claimed the couple use the HRH title in their personal life and even have them "emblazoned on their stationery".

A tipster told Page Six, "Meghan hates the royal family and UK, yet flouts [the HRH] for her personal gain. It’s appalling. Everything about her is a contradiction.”

They continued, “[She] embraced the [royal] platform and hierarchy, but it just doesn’t translate in the US. It’s weird to refer to your team as ‘private office’ and ask them to call you Sir and Ma’am. Heaven forbid she just asks people to call her ‘Meghan.'"

The mole dubbed the move "disgraceful" and "shocking," saying: "[They] were asked not to use the titles for this very kind of issue."

However, the tipster said, "While they do not publicly use 'HRH,' this was a personal gift, and their titles remain."
