Lewis Capaldi had his first onstage performance in two years this weekend.
The singer-songwriter, 28, performed at a charity gig in Edinburgh this Friday night to raise funds for suicide prevention.
His return to the stage came after a two-year hiatus that he went on citing anxiety after his 2023 Glastonbury performance.
For his comeback, Capaldi performed six songs, including his 2019 hit Someone You Loved at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh.
The performances came in support of Campaign Against Living Miserably (Calm), a mental health charity he has previously raised funds for.
Fans were asked not to film any of the set, with their phones placed in sealed pouches throughout it, the BBC reported.
Headliner Tom Walker revealed that the appearance was a last-minute decision from Capaldi and fans were told to stay around for a secret act in addition to him and Nina Nesbitt.
“When Lewis confirmed he wanted to do it last minute, I was delighted. We’ve bumped into each other a few times over the years backstage at [festivals] and events, and he’s a total legend," Walker told the outlet.
“I know how much pressure this industry can put on artists at times, especially after a bit of a break. So for him to be able to play a little secret gig in a safe space without all the phones, the noise, and the expectations was perfect," he added.
Capaldi, who has Tourette’s Syndrome, released his first album in 2019 and a second album in 2023.
The Scottish singer has also previously raised funds for Calm, playing a virtual acoustic concert in 2020 to support the charity.
