Simon Pegg recently opened up about his time in the Mission Impossible franchise and what made his eyes well up.
For the unversed, the 55-year-old Actor and comedian has wound up filming the final movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in the Mission Impossible franchise.
In the movie, he reprised his role of Benji Dunn, a field agent and the friend of Ethan Hunt, a character played by Cruise.
While conversing on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with The National Lottery on Virgin Radio UK, Pegg reflected on his time on the film’s set and confessed that it was “incredibly emotional” to leave behind 2 decades of his life.
He explained, “Obviously everyone always talks about the stunts, but at the heart of the movie, it's incredibly sort of emotional. For all the characters everybody gets an arc, everybody gets a really sort of powerful emotional beat and it's moving.”
The Star Trek actor noted, “I shed a tear and I think partly because it's been 20 years of my life and partly because it genuinely gets to you, there’s some real moments in it.”
After listening to Pegg’s explanation, the host replied, “You’re tearing up just talking about it. I can see you glazing over.”
It is pertinent to mention that Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will screen at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
It will bring an end to the franchise which released its first movie in 1996.
