'Spice Girls' member Geri Horner suggests gender-neutral slogan for band

Spice Girl member Geri Horner, also famed for her middle name Geri Halliwell, feels the '90s girl band's slogan could use some adjustments ahead of a possible tour.

Speaking to an audience of young people at the launch of her latest children’s book last month, the 52-year-old suggested a more gender-neutral alternative to her band's slogan "Girl Power".

"Girl Power was a sweet word for feminism. But if you look in the dictionary and see what feminism means, it means the equalisation between the sexes".

"Therefore, to me, it’s irrelevant what your gender is, I want everyone to feel their power, so let’s evolve that word from 'Girl Power' to 'Inner Power'".

Ironically, it was Geri who came up with the name Spice Girls for the pop band 30 years ago as she wanted to give ‘feminism a kick up the a***’".

Geri's suggestion comes as she and Emma Bunton, Mel B, and Mel C reportedly work on a reunion for their 30th anniversary and have been secretly planning a world tour, though Victoria Beckham will not join them.
