Jackie Chan just pointed out the reason behind Rush Hour 3 receiving lukewarm response.

The 71-year-old iconic actor reflected on his career ahead of the release of his upcoming movie Karate Kid: Legends, in which he reprises his role from the 2010 audience favourite, The Karate Kid.

When asked to give ranks to the Rush Hour films, as its fourth installment still remains under works, Jackie hesitated before voicing his honest opinion.

He then told BuzzFeed: “I don’t know. You know what, the first one: little money, little time. We shot it like, ‘Go, go, go, go!’ The second one: a lot of money, a lot of time.”

“The third one: too much money, too much time,” and then added, “Too much money is no good.”

For context, Rush Hour was one of the most successful releases of 1998 revolving around the story of a LA detective and a Hong Kong inspector, who have to put aside their differences after a Chinese diplomat’s daughter is kidnapped.

Its other two sequels were not as well received and fans might just be hoping that Rush Hour 4 makes up for it.

In a previous conversation with Screen Rant, when Jackie Chan was asked if Rush Hour 4 was still under works, he replied, “The script is still going on. I want to do a Rush Hour 4.”
