Cher pays tribute to her late mother on her 99th birthday

Cher is remembering her late mother, Georgia Holt, with a heartfelt homage.

Taking to her X account (previously Twitter), the 79-year-old American singer and actress honoured her late mother, Georgia’s, enduring legacy on what would have been her 99th birthday.

Cher wrote, "Hey [star emoji] Mom [star emoji] Happy [a balloon and a cake emoji] Day. Sometimes I Talk 2 U, Need 2 Ask U a Question,Or I FORGET, & THINK, OH..GOTTA CALL MOM. We Both Know U Could Be a Little Off The Wall Sometimes, BUT MOM, I AM WHO I AM … BECAUSE OF U Me.”

For the unversed, Georgia, an American singer-songwriter, passed away at the age of 96 on December 10, 2022.

The crooner of I Am Just Your Yesterday departed from life three months after she had been hospitalised with pneumonia.

It is significant to mention that Cher and her mother were close with each other and in 1978, Georgia even sang a little part on Cher’s TV show, Cher…Special.

Notably, later they also worked together on a documentary about Georgia’s life and how she raised a family of performers.
