Meghan Markle has been “rightly lampooned” by Hollywood for her lack of self-awareness, per a U.S. journalist.
Meghan and Harry moved to the U.S. in 2020 after stepping down from their roles as working royals in the U.K.
Ever since, they’ve been the target of many skits and jabs by comedians and even executives.
The couple was the subject of a South Park episode, The Worldwide Privacy Tour, which centered on a fictional Prince and his wife, who go on a world tour and demand privacy.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were more recently the subject of a scathing article from Vanity Fair. The publication dubbed them "American hustle" and shared many allegations of bullying from alleged ex-employees of the couple.
Two years ago, The Hollywood Reporter dubbed them the "biggest losers in Hollywood."
Sharing his take on the scrutiny and criticism Meghan has faced, U.S. journalist Lee Cohen told the Express: "[Meghan] Markle may be the most tone deaf, least self-aware figure in the public eye."
"She has been rightly humiliated and lampooned for it in Hollywood by everyone from cartoon characters to comedians," he declared.
Cohen also referred to Meghan’s claim in her and Harry’s 2021 bombshell interview with Oprah. The Duchess had claimed that certain members of the Royal Family were unconcerned about how dark Prince Archie would be.
However, Prince Harry recently denied that claim of racism against his family in a new interview.
Cohen fumed, "This is the woman who, in her 2021 Oprah interview, spun tales that crumbled under scrutiny. Even her husband backed away from her charges of racism against his family."
He said: "No wonder Hollywood’s had a field day at the Sussexes' expense. South Park roasted them in 2023, and comics like Chris Rock have taken gleeful jabs.”
"Even a Spotify exec, Bill Simmons, branded them 'grifters' after their podcast deal fizzled out post-Archetypes," he concluded.
