Robert Downey Jr. has praised Pedro Pascal for his soaring success.
While having a conversation with Vanity Fair, the 60-year-old American actor talked about Pascal’s success, as both actors will be in the next phase of the MCU.
For the unversed, Downey will play the role of Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, in Avengers: Doomsday. While the 50-year-old Chilean-American actor will play Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
Notably, it is still unclear if the two characters will fight in the first step but that did not stop Downey from saying that Pascal is someone who inspires people in Hollywood.
The Oppenheimer star said, “Pascal’s slow trajectory to becoming a household name who is on a wildly hot streak kind of reaffirms my faith in our industry,” referring to his hit projects such as The Last of Us, Materialists, Eddington, and The Mandalorian.
Also, Pascal, who is also now spending time at Downey’s home, told the same outlet that he has been part of an “Avengers’ cast homework day” at the Sherlock Holmes actor’s house.
When he was asked if he is also an Avenger, the Game of Thrones star quipped, “I don’t know, I don’t know. I’m more aware of disgruntlement around my casting than anything I’ve ever done. ‘He’s too old. He’s not right. He needs to shave.’”
Pascal revealed that Downey came to the rescue and soothed him about his Fantastic Four role.
“He’s just so immediately generous and inviting that you feel like you can be afraid, you can be hungry, you can be ambivalent,” the Gladiator star noted.
It is pertinent to mention that The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on July 25, 2025, while Avengers: Doomsday will hit theatres on December 18, 2026.
