Prince Harry has never been shy about his culinary dislikes and apparently, lobster tops the list.

Royal fans were reminded of this in August 2025 when former royal chef Darren McGrady jumped on Instagram to confirm Meghan Markle’s revelation that her husband is not a seafood lover.

According to McGrady, Princess Diana adored lobster but refused to order it in restaurants, worrying it looked too indulgent.

Instead, she’d ask her chef to whip up lobster thermidor at home at least once a week.

When William and Harry were around, however, the menu was far less regal, barbecued baby back ribs, corn on the cob, and banana flan.

Much like his father, King Charles, the Duke's palate has always leaned picky, especially when it comes to his mother’s favourite crustacean.

In the festive episode of With Love, Meghan, the Duchess invited chef Tom Colicchio to demonstrate his family’s Italian-American holiday dishes, including a vibrant beetroot salad.

As he rattled off the ingredients, Meghan burst into laughter, confessing that she doesn’t often cook with certain foods because her husband can’t stand them.

She then revealed Harry’s personal culinary blacklist include beets (or beetroot, as he insists on calling them), black olives, fennel, and pickled vegetables all of which, naturally, appeared in Tom’s salad.

Lobster is delicious and Prince Harry really should give it another chance, but nothing says Christmas quite like serving your husband a bowl of everything he avoids.
