Adam Sandler revealed how he felt when he left the Saturday Night Live in 1995.

The Murder Mystery actor experienced a major heartbreak when he left the show as it felt that his team with whom he worked with for five years, happily moved on without him.

He remained part of the Saturday Night Live from 1990 to 1995. Adam confessed that he couldn’t watch the show for straight one year after he left.

“When I left the show, the first year I couldn’t watch it. I couldn’t watch it — it just breaks your heart.”

Departure from SNL for Sandler was like leaving a game which continues to keep going without him.

He told Vanity Fair, “I guess it’s like when you play sports or whatever, and all of a sudden, you leave, and you see the game keeps going. You go, ‘Oh, they didn’t need me, man.’ It breaks your heart a little bit.”

The Happy Gilmore star further opened about the evolving nature of the SNL sketches.

According to him, previously the tone of the show was quite serious as the mentality was if you break, you’re out.

But he is glad that the rule got broken and now the cast members enjoy and laugh during the show.
