Jenna Bush Hager embarks on new career path

Jenna Bush Hager is stepping into an exciting new chapter of her professional life.

The longtime Today show cohost has announced her debut as a television producer, taking on her first scripted drama project with NBC.

The series, titled Protection, will explore the inner workings of law enforcement, with a particular focus on the Secret Service.

It’s a world Jenna knows well, having grown up as the daughter of former President George W. Bush and former First Lady Laura Bush.

Bush Hager revealed that she was deeply involved in the development process, attending pitch meetings and relishing the reactions to the show’s unexpected twists.

“It’s about different levels of law enforcement, some based on Secret Service,” Jenna told her new cohost Sheinelle Jones.

"So, y’all know I know about that."

She is partnering with Quantico creator Josh Safran and producer Ben Spector, known for Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico.

Filming is expected to begin this spring, marking the first project under her NBC Universal Studio Group deal.

This move adds yet another dimension to Jenna’s multifaceted career.

During her early days she worked as a public school teacher. She later joined Today in 2009 as a correspondent and became cohost in 2019.
