D4vd murder case: Autopsy reveals new key findings

New findings are adding weight – and urgency – to an already disturbing case.

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Celeste Rivas Hernandez, 14, died from “multiple penetrating injuries,” with officials ruling her death a homicide.

The report points to severe trauma concentrated in the torso, including injuries that damaged vital organs.

Investigators also noted a “low level of ethanol” in her system, though they say it may be due to “postmortem changes or ingestion” and did not contribute to her death. Additional toxicology results were either negative or inconclusive.

Authorities previously said Rivas Hernandez’s remains were discovered in September 2025 inside a Tesla linked to D4vd. The vehicle had been towed after reports of a strong odor.

Investigators later confirmed her remains were found in separate bags with the trunk.

The report also highlights identifying details, including a small “Shhh…” tattoo on her finger – a marking investigators say Burke appeared to share in a prior image.

Burke now faces multiple charges, including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a minor, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody without bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 23 – a date that aligns closely with when prosecutors believe the crime occurred.

As the case moves forward, each new detail is painting a clearer – and more difficult – picture of what happened.
