Jalen Williams' injury update: Here's what we know after Thunder's scrappy Game 2 win

OKC gets a major setback with Jalen Williams leaving the game in the third quarter against Suns on Wednesday night, April 22.

Thunder guard Jalen Williams left the floor with a scary hamstring injury with Oklahoma City defeating Phoenix 120-107.

The scrappy win gave the Thunder a 2-0 lead in their opening round playoff series.

Williams came up empty on a layup midway. He grabbed his left leg and walked toward the bench after missing a contested layup on a fast break with 6:26 left in the third quarter.

Williams didn’t resume the play after leaving the floor.

Thunder’s head coach while updating on Williams’ injury, said, “We think he aggravated his left hamstring. We’ll take a look at it in the next couple of days, and we’ll update you guys appropriately.”

Williams’ postseason was kickstarted with a superb start after injuries restricted him to only 33 games during the regular season.

He had 22 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in the Thunder’s Game 1 thumping win.

Thunder’s guard Jalen Williams then delivered an impressive performance with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting and four assists in just 23 minutes of Game 2.

Williams, a third-team All-NBA selection last season, appeared in the entire playoffs last year with a fractured scapholunate ligament in his right wrist.

He had postponed a procedure until Oklahoma City’s playoff run was over.

The Thunder, with a 2-0 lead in the first-round playoff series, is now playing in Phoenix on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
