Ticketmaster re-released Harry Styles NYC concert tickets for as low as $50

Ticketmaster has given a major blow to scalpers who scooped up tickets to Harry Styles’ upcoming Madison Square Garden residency.

The ticket’s marketplace cancelled thousands of illegally obtained tickets and planned to re-release them to fans. The prices are set as low as $50.

The move was announced on Wednesday, April 22, announcing that it caught scalpers using “multiple accounts and fake identities to get around ticket limits and resell tickets for profits.”

The scalpers deliberately targeted the cheapest tickets for the 30-show "Together, Together" residency by Styles at Madison Square Garden that will take place between August 26 and Halloween. The residency is in support of his new album titled "Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally."

According to Ticketmaster, all the tickets involved in the cancellation have not been transferred to any fan account.

Furthermore, no fan accounts have been impacted by the recent incident.

Only tickets purchased from the Ticketmaster site are still valid.

The original prices, set by the artist and his team to keep shows accessible for everyone, break down as:

  • 19% of tickets = $50
  • 77% of tickets = under $95
  • 100% of tickets: Under $130 (including fees)

How can fans buy re-released tickets?

Requests for the returned tickets can be made from April 30, starting at 12 p.m., until May 1, ending at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

To make the request, fans should go to the Harry Styles Ticketmaster page in the specified time period. Fans will have to provide their credit/debit card information when making a request, and if the request is accepted, they will be billed automatically.

Fan requests are limited to four tickets for up to five different concerts, with a limit of eight tickets in total (four tickets for each of two days).

What to expect after requesting?

After each request, confirmation will be sent by Ticketmaster. Fans who will receive tickets will be notified by May 8 at 11:59 p.m. ET with seat details.

The fans who are not selected will not get the second mail and will not be charged for the same.

Prioritise fans who do not have a ticket for any show in NYC. The request for a ticket does not ensure that there is a chance of getting tickets.

As per Mehta, Ticketmaster has followed this process in some other big tours recently for identifying fraud and banning accounts.
