Princess Anne makes bold entrance at British Museum gala after special Yorkshire visit

The Princess Royal was pictured making her entrance in orange coat on Wednesday. 

Princess Anne and Sir Tim Laurence arrived the British Museum for the Samsung Korean Treasures Gala.

Earlier, Anne had been in North Yorkshire for a very different engagement.

The royal attended an afternoon tea held to celebrate Carers Plus Yorkshire and its work supporting unpaid carers across local communities. 

The charity is celebrating its 30th anniversary which she founded in 1991, The Princess Royal Trust for Carers. 

During a conversation with Ms McPherson, the Princess heard about the charity's latest developments and its three decades of supporting people who provide unpaid care to loved ones.

Anne later entered the main hall, where she met adult carers, Armed Forces carers, volunteers, staff and trustees connected with the charity.

She heard personal accounts of the support provided by organisation and the difference its services make.

Anne was also invited to cut a celebration cake, the Princess quipped that she would only cut it if the guests were actually going to eat it.

Reflecting on the royal visit, Elizabeth McPherson said it had been a “real honour” to welcome her.

She added that Anne had been “incredibly warm and engaging” throughout the visit and had taken a genuine interest in the organisation's work and the people it supports.
