Hamza Akbar comes from behind to beat world no. 2 Bingham in snooker shootout

MANCHESTER: Hamza Akbar, the former Asian Snooker Champion, shocked many after winning the match against world number two Stuart Bingham. This is Hamza's first major victory since he started his professional World Tour.

Hamza Akbar played number one seed and 2015 World Champion Stuart Bingham in Snooker Shootout at Watford Colosseum. Hamza was trailing 46-1 after five minutes of a 10-minute frame. He started to pot very well and overturned Bingham's score with seconds remaining and won the match with 48-53 points.

Hamza, after winning the match, expressed his delight at the victory. "Delighted to win the game after so long, thanks to Almighty and all friends and family who have supported me in difficult times", he said on social media.

Hamza is Pakistan’s only professional snooker player and is based at the Oldham Snooker Academy. His manager Mohammed Nisar praised his game. "We are very delighted with the outcome of this game which will help Hamza financially and mentally to perform well in the future and win more game for him and his country", his manager said.

Hamza is currently on a world tour and will be playing other tournaments in UK and abroad.
