KARACHI: Sufi rock band Junoon is all set to mark its return after a decade with a performance slated to be the biggest in the country’s music arena.

On December 25, 2018, the long wait for the fans will finally be over as Geo and Sooper have partnered to bring the band to the Junoonis at Karachi’s DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy).

It’s not just the fans who can’t wait for the performance; the band members are equally keen to make their return.

“Unity, faith and discipline, that’s the message we want to give [to our fans],” lead guitarist Salman Ahmad told Geo News.

“When people work together to achieve something, then you can see the passion, dedication in their work. Junoon and Geo are going to be a super show!” he added.

Bassist Brian O'Connell said the band is practising hard to put on a fantastic show.

“We want to give the fans a really good show, and that’s exactly what we are practicing for. I’ve missed the fans,” the New York-based musician said.

Khumariyaan, Tamaasha, Lyari Underground, and Sounds Of Kolachi will also be performing at the concert.

Junoon, founded by Salman Ahmad, started from Lahore in 1990. The band released multiple albums and performed all over the world. However, in 2005 the band split as O’Connell returned to the United States and lead vocalist Ali Azmat and guitarist/vocalist Ahmad went their separate ways to launch solo careers.

The tickets for the concert, titled 'Sooper Hay Junoon Ka Pakistan' can be booked through Yayvo.com or TCS express centres.

All tickets for Bronze Circle and Platinum Lounge have already been booked, while Pink, Silver and Gold tickets are available for sale.
